Mittens

A delightfully soft pair of hand knitted mittens in finest quality pure 100% alpaca wool.

Alpaca is four times warmer than lambswool and is much more durable than cashmere. Treat yourself to a touch of luxury for the cold winter months.

One size. The mittens are 23cm in total length (measured to the longest point, which is where the end of the middle finger fits). The length from the crease between thumb and forefinger to end is 12cm. And from the beginning of wrist seam to end is 18cm (so not including wrist seam which is 5cm = 23cm total length). They are slightly stretchy.

Mamacha produces luxury alpaca knitwear for men and women designed in England and lovingly hand made by expert knitters in Peru. In 2008 we began working with a women's co-operative on the outskirts of Lima with the aim of providing employment for struggling families. We discovered some fantastic knitters with incredible skills, who needed a little help designing and marketing knitwear, and that is how our story began. You can enjoy your purchase in the knowledge you have made a difference to a family in Lima.

All of our 100% alpaca products are made using top quality, truly luxurious alpaca fibre which we source from the highly regarded Peruvian manufacturer 'Michell'. It is known for its softness, superior warmth, lightweightedness and durability - it will last much longer than synthetic fibres.

You won't need to wash these mittens often as the properties of the natural fibre repel dirt and moisture. When you do wash it, hand wash in warmish (about 30 degrees) water with delicate detergent or shampoo and it will wash brilliantly and stay like new. Do not tumble dry, just lie flat to dry.
