Mamacha is a not-for-profit organisation registered in the UK.
We work to help support four small-scale knitting groups for marginalized women in Peru, located in the shanty areas of northern Lima and in remote areas of the Andes.
Our mission is to help provide a market for products made by the women, which enables them to earn a living and pay for basic expenses such as food, medicines and education for their children. The groups have limited access to markets which means they are reliant on demand generated through Mamacha.
Products include alpaca knitwear, children's clothing, bags, toys and textiles. The range is sold at special events and markets around the UK, and will be stocked at selected shops with a focus on ethical products.
The photos above are of the women we work with in Lima, Tarma and Pitumarca.
