Alpaca is one of the finest and most luxurious fibres in the world.
It is known for its softness, warmth, sheen, lightweightedness and durability – it won’t pill and will last much longer than synthetic, man made fibres.
It is hypo-allergenic, naturally fire retardant and eco-friendly (both the fibre and the way in which the alpacas are raised are less damaging to the environment than competing materials).
This jumper is lightweight rather than chunky and thick, but still suprisingly warm. Alpaca allows the skin to breathe and wicks away moisture.
Alpacas are native to the high altitude South American Andean regions of Peru and Bolivia and are closely related to the llama.
This jumper can be machine washed on the woollen cycle with gentle detergent suitabe for woollens. It can also be hand washed in cold water. You will find this jumper does not need to be washed as often as synthetic materials as the fibre naturally repels dirt and moisture and does not soak up spills.
